Hetzel’s Overland Transport was formed in Effingham, Illinois in 1993 with a single tractor that moved trailers from dock to dock for a local manufacturer. Over the years we have grown into a company with roughly 25–33 tractors, 70–75 food-grade 53-foot trailers, and a mix of company drivers and owner-operators — while staying true to the personal approach that got us started.
Our Story
What began as local dock work has expanded into full truckload, dedicated fleet, spotting, local drayage, and logistics support across the Midwest and beyond. Through it all, we have remained a small family-owned company. That size lets us stay close to both our customers and our drivers. We know the people we work with, and they know us.
